Tom Welling began starring in the television series Smallville in 2001, playing Clark Kent as a teenager in his nascent Superman career. Tall, thin and square-jawed, Welling got his start in the late 1990s as a model. He settled in Los Angeles to work on an acting career, and his first big break came in 2001 as a love interest in six episodes of the TV series Judging Amy. The success of Smallville made Welling a star, and he has appeared in feature films including the remakes of Cheaper by the Dozen (2003, with Steve Martin) and The Fog (2005).

Some years back, I was a member of Gold’s Gym in Glorietta where I frequently saw John Hall. Yes, dear, John Hall in all his hunky glory. Not once, not twice, but many times I saw him in almost nude form in that gym’s locker room… I cannot say more than what these pictures already attest to. Big bulges, yes, big big bulges — in his body, and in his briefs.

Allen Dizon bares his thespian skills in ‘Twighlight Dancers’
Actor, businessman and drag racer Allen Dizon knows that it takes time to tune and tweak his two-door hatchback Honda Civic and turn it into a 10-second car from its current 11–second car status. This is the thrill and challenge of his motor sport, the same exhilirating experience he’s got from honing and polishing his acting career.
Unlike his fast car though, he’s more concerned with his showbiz career which he wants to gear towards the road of stability and longevity. His goal is to have staying power and he knows that becoming a serious and versatile actor will be the key to his success.
One of the only surviving sexy-actors from the mid90’s, Allen’s track record in showbiz, that includes his movie projects, television series and stage plays, has manifested that he has outgrown his “pa-sexy” of just baring flesh on the big screen stage; keeping true to his word that his sexy image was just his stepping stone into showbiz. Though he doesn’t have qualms accepting sexy roles, he and his manager Dennis Evangelista have always made sure that he gets into worthwhile film projects.
An example of such projects is Mel Chionglo’s “Twighlight Dancers” which is scheduled to open in local theaters onSept. 20. The movie is produced by Centerstage Productions and written by Ricardo Lee. Allen gave the thumbs up to his role in the movie because it was, for him, very challenging. He plays Alfred, a “has–been” macho dancer on the way out of the limelight as his younger friend slowly becomes the more popular macho dancer.
“Alfred is retiring as a macho dancer and he is looking for a more respectable job for his family,” Allen explained in Tagalog. “His other conflict is also trying to win his wife back.”
Allen Dizon’s acting skill is pitted against renowned drama actress Ana Capri who plays his deaf and mute wife in “Twighlight Dancer.” Another challenge for him was his role as a wife beater.
“It wasn’t easy because it’s a physical scene and there’s the possibility of hurting your co-actor. But Ana’s really great to work with,” he said of his first time role as a wife–beater.
A first for Allen is that he doesn’t have any love scene in “Twilight Dancers” which surprised and excited him at the same time. He said that he was really focused on his character and he hopes that the public would notice his acting more than his body this time. But he still has provocative scenes in the movie since he plays a macho dancer.
In preparing to play their roles as macho dancers, Allen and his costars went to gay bars and watched real macho dancers at work. He also got tips from a once popular macho dancer turned into a much sought–out Dance Instructor, the real person his character Alfred was based upon.
“I realized that it wasn’t easy being a macho dancer. I was taught how to dance and it was physically taxing. I even had to lose weight. And I was taught that on stage I should be on my own world while dancing and that I shouldn’t look at the audience,” he shared.
According to Allen, watching a macho dancer at work would have been embarassing if he didn’t have an open mind. But since it was required of him to research his character, he took the experience as a learning process.
“In real life, I don’t think I can do their job….but they were really good dancers and some would even do frontal nudity,” he related.
He pointed out that he could relate well to the persona of his character Alfred in terms of his hot– temperedness. He admitted that he could easily blow a fuse.
“I understood well Alfred because of his problems. I saw part of me in him and that helped me portray Alfred better.”
Though “Twighlight Dancers” tackles the life of Alfred, it is also a melting pot of different life stories that moviegoers could relate to. There’s the story of a businesswoman called Madame Loca played by Cherry Pie Picache who’s a frequent customer in a gay bar. She doesn’t only frequent the macho dancing shows but hires some of the dancers to do dubious jobs like gun–running. Then there’s a notorious town mayor (Joel Lamangan) whose dirty laundry includes being a cross–dresser at night, a filmmaker (Jerry Sineneng) who lures men by promising them stardom in his next movie and an OFW (William Martinez) who spends his money on nightly macho dancing shows.
Playing the best friend of Allen Dizon in the movie is Tyron Perez as Dwight, a promising macho dancer. Also in the film are Lauren Novero, Terence Baylob, IC Mendoza, Kris Martinez, Nor Domingo and Arnell Ignacio as the club owner Taurus.
So how was it working with one of Philippine cinema’s revered directors, Mel Chionglo?
“I’ve worked with Mel Chionglo before but this is a more serious film. He’s okay to work with. He likes everything to happen naturally in every scene, in how you deliver your lines and your emotions…when you come to the set and after you read the script, whatever you feel about it, that should come out in the scenes you’re going to do,” he expressed.
With regards to the newcomers he worked with in “Twighlight Dancers,” he said that he welcomed them with open arms to the realm of showbiz. He also saw himself in them when he was still starting in the movies. And for him they have also made a good move by making this film a stepping stone to launch their respective careers.
“I talked to them about how I started in my career and told them to be just patient and work hard. I also told them to get along well with people and to take acting seriously,” he shared.
Before its opening in Metro Manila theaters, “Twighlight Dancers” is going to have its worlwide premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival today, Sept. 8, and it will have its regular run on Sept. 9, 11, 13 and 15. Afterwards it will head out to the Chicago International Film Festival.
“I’m very happy that I’m going to have a chance to travel because of ‘Twighlight Dancers.’ This movie has given me much blessings and it was more than I expected.”
It could be remembered that Allen Dizon’s movie entitled “Mulata” with Aya Medel was screened at Bangkok, Thailand during the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in the year 2000. He was also nominated in the Best Actor category in the said filmfest.
At the moment, Allen Dizon is in TAPE, Inc.’s afternoon drama series entitled “Pinakamamahal” which stars Oyo Boy Sotto, Marian Rivera, Pauleen Luna, Danilo Barrios, AJ Eigenmann, Danica Sotto, Maritoni Fernandez and Gary Estrada. Here, he is also a wife–beater. His blind wife is played by Jennifer Sevilla.
“How I wish I could take a vacation while in Toronto but I have to come back for my soap opera’s tapings,” he smiled.
Allen Dizon is also expanding his buy and sell car business as he puts up a new showroom in Sta. Maria, Bulacan. He plans of also incorporating an accessory shop as well as a car service division in his showroom.

His family exiled to Morocco then moved all over the world such as London, Portugal, Singapore then finally back to the Philippines. Martin, popularly known as Borgy is indeed very popular since birth! He is the eldest son of Governor Imee Marcos and Tommy Manotoc which makes him the first grandson of the late President Ferdinand Marcos. He was a former model of Bench and had Vj/Commercial model Sarah Meier as his ex-girlfriend! His current girlfriend is model Ornussa Cadness!
According to Vicky Sycip Herrera, Borgy was very popular even in IS, his school. He was even voted as “Best Dressed Male“. Their 2001 graduation party was held at the San Juan home of his grandfather, former President Marcos.
He is under Calcarries International Model Philippines. He also did several advertisements, endorsements, magazine covers, ramp modeling and hosting jobs. “As of now I’m happy where I am now hosting a show like SIS with Janice and Gellie de Belen and Extra-Extra with Sarah. It’s fun and I enjoy working there even it took me something to adjust,” Borgy said when interviewed about his hosting stints on GMA. Aside from those shows, Borgy also hosted Bb. Pilipinas with Dingdong Dantes!

According to Meldita, she is too old for politics so she snooped around her house, and found hunky apo Borgy lying, lazying around, so she assigned him as her representative to foray into politics as, guess what!, the new Manila Mayor. Interestingly, Imelda will stand as Borgy’s campaign manager. So Manila, if you have had one too many beautification projects from flowery Lito Atienza, well then watch out for more glitz and glamor with Mayor Borgy running the ramp this next election season!

Si Sarah Geronimo ang nakatakdang pumapel sa Sharon role, her second after Bituing Walang Ningning at si Yeng naman ang Dina role.
Teka, kapag natuloy ang Dear Heart, pangatlong beses na ito ni Sarah na gumanap bilang Sharon. Hindi kaya tawagin na siyang copycat ni Sharon pag nagkataon?

Sarah, Rica, and Yeng to star in the remake of “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas”
Ire-remake din ng ABS-CBN ang isa sa mga pelikula ng Viva Films na Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.
Pinag-a-acting workshop na nga ang apat sa anim na Pinoy Dream Academy scholars na sina Yeng Constantino, Jay-R Siaboc, Ronnie Liang, at Irish Fullerton. Isasabak na rin kasi sila sa acting and from sources close to the group of singers, isang soap ang gagawin nila—the remake of the drama-musical movie nina Sharon Cuneta, Dina Bonnevie, and Cherie Gil na Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.
Sina Sarah Geronimo, Rica Peralejo, at Yeng ang gaganap sa characters ng tatlong bida. Earlier, it was supposed to be Sarah, Yeng, and Rachelle Ann Go.
The last time nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Rachelle prior to her Valentine concert with boyfriend Christian Bautista, nabanggit nga ni Rachelle that she is being offered a soap opera bukod pa sa unang pelikula na gagawin niya for Regal Films.
We were also told na aalisin ang pangalan ni Rachelle sa cast dahil baka mapunta sa kanya ang papel ni Cherie na isang kontrabida so she was replaced by Rica. Sarah is expected to play the role of Sharon while Yeng will play the role of Dina.
Kung saka-sakali, this will be the second time na gagampanan ni Sarah ang roles ni Sharon sa old movies ng Megastar. Nauna na rito ang TV version ng Bituing Walang Ningning.
Sarah was also slated to do the remake of Dear Heart, Sharon’s first movie with ex-husband Gabby Concepcion. Pero hindi yata masyadong happy si Sharon sa pagre-remake ng kanyang mga pelikula kaya hindi na itinuloy ng Viva Films ang movie starring Sarah and John Lloyd Cruz sana.
Nagsisimula pa lang ang workshops nina Yeng and the other PDA at may Japan at US tours pa sila, ganun din si Sarah na may US concert with the champions, so hindi pa alam kung kailan sisimulan ang Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.
Si Rica, may bago nang show, another Viva remake—ang Palimos ng Pag-ibig that also starred Dina, just like Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas. Makakasama niya rito sina Diether Ocampo at Kristine Hermosa na gaganap sa mga characters na ginampanan nina Edu Manzano and Vilma Santos sa big screen.
Kung saka-sakaling matuloy ang Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas, ito ang ikalawang pagkakataon na gagamitin ng ABS-CBN ang nasabing titulo sa kanilang drama series. Matatandaang from 2003 to 2004 ay nagkaroon na ang Dos ng primetime drama series na may pamagat na Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas, starring Kristine Hermosa, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, and Angelika dela Cruz. Ang theme song na ginamit dito ay siya ring theme song na originally sung by Sharon Cuneta in the movie she starred in.

Alessandra de Rossi nearly accepted project with ABS-CBN
Muntik na palang maging Kapamilya ang young actress na si Alessandra de Rossi.
May offer ang ABS-CBN sa nakababatang kapatid ni Assunta de Rossi. Siya sana ang makakasama nina Heart Evangelista at Geoff Eigenmann sa serialization of the comics-turned-movie from Regal Films na Hiram Na Mukha.
Ipinagpaalam ng manager ni Alex na si Manny Valera ang offer sa mga executives ng GMA-7 dahil kahit walang kontrata si Alex sa Kapuso network ay nanatili namang loyal ang young actress. Gumawa ng paraan ang GMA-7 na magkaroon kagaad ng projects si Alex kung kaya’t hindi na siya natuloy sa Hiram Na Mukha.
Huling napanood si Alex sa Linlang episode ng Now and Forever, kung saan kasama sina Lorna Tolentino, Polo Ravales, at Diana Zubiri. Tumatak si Alex sa dalawang primetime soaps na Kung Mawawala Ka bilang bunsong anak ni Eddie Garcia at sa Darna ni Angel Locsin bilang si Valentina.
May isang show si Alex ngayon ngunit nasa QTV 11, ang MMS kasama sina Raymond Gutierrez at Jay-R.
Hindi rin ito ang unang pagsasama sana nina Alex at Heart na napurnada. Bago nag-renew si Heart ng kontrata niya sa ABS-CBN, magkakasama sana sila nina Alex at Oyo Sotto sa pamalit na soap ng TAPE sa Sana Makita Kang Muli. Hindi ito natuloy dahil nahiram muna ng GMA-7 ang timeslot ng TAPE na part ng Dramarama Sa Hapon para gamitin ng Muli nina Alfred Vargas at Carrie Lee.
Si Heart kasama ng kanyang boyfriend na si Jericho Rosales ay balik ABS-CBN na nga.
Galing din sa GMA-7 si Geoff na anak nina Gina Alajar at Michael de Mesa bago ito lumipat sa ABS-CBN. Si Heart din ang kanyang unang naging partner sa soap opera na Hiram nina Kris Aquino at Dina Bonnevie. Sa kanilang muling pagsasama, may Hiram na naman sa titulo.
